Thomas Callamari of Walden, NY, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025. He was 91.
The son of the late Marcellus Callamari and Beatrice (Seidel) Callamari, he was born August 23, 1933, in Weehawken, NJ and grew up in Hoboken, NJ.
After attending St. Michael’s High School in Union City, Tom served in the United States Army and later opened TCP Data Processing, a successful data entry service, which afforded him his lifestyle and eventually, an early retirement.
Tom led an adventurous life. He became an accomplished scuba diver in the 1960s and 70s and even made one dive on the famed Andrea Doria wreck. He motorcycled across the continental United States as well as through five countries in Europe. He adored sailing on his boat The Chaos, making many journeys across the Long Island Sound, as well as from southern Florida to the Bahamas. Later in life, he satisfied his wanderlust by driving his Winnebago throughout the country, making friends wherever he went.
He is survived by his three daughters Cynthia Hauschild (Dan Hauschild), Fran Callamari, Ellen Callamari (Ivan Abrams)
and 3 Grandchildren Matthew Albanese, Oscar Callamari-Abrams, Josephine Callamari-Abrams
Along with his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brothers Harold and Robert Callamari.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, 3pm-6pm at Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549.
Burial will take place Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11:30am, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
