It is with great sadness that our father Thomas Farmer Martin Sr., age 82, passed away on January 12th, 2023.
Our beloved father Tom Sr. was born on August 2nd,1941 to John and Daisy Martin in Hillsdale NJ.
Our father Tom Sr. was married to our mother Linda Fitzgibbon for 19 years and stayed great friends until our Dad’s passing. Tom Sr. is survived and will be lovingly remembered by 4 children Kelly, Tommy, Renee, and Todd, along with 2 daughters-in-law Helen and Annemarie, 11 grandchildren Shonah, Jennifer, Melanie, Jessica, Tommy, Jesse, Tyler, Rachel and Noah.
Our dad had 7 siblings and was survived by 3 Jane, Richie, and David, predeceased by Herbie, Jackie, Amy, and Betty.
Tom Sr. had a few careers in his life such as owning 4 gas stations throughout Bergen County NJ, he worked at Corbett industries as a service engineer building large heating units, air conditioning units and ovens for big companies, such as Pepperidge Farm. Dad also had a pizza place in Massachusetts when we were kids and a bar called Booties in Florida when all of us kids were grown up.
Our father Tom Sr. Martin was the smartest man we knew. He was a man of all trades and was filled with knowledge; he could honestly fix anything and was always there to lend a helping hand.
Our dad’s passion and joy was boating on the Hudson River. Tom Sr. had a love of being on the water and was loved by many who had the privilege to know him. He had a whole other family who also were boaters on the Hudson at the Rondout Creek Marina in Kingston NY, and he was respected and loved by all of them. Tom also liked to enjoy a nice cold beer and some lunch with his buddies at Whiskey Ally's Bar and Grill in Newburgh, they knew exactly what he wanted when he walked in the door and had it on the bar as soon as he sat down. No words were needed as they all knew our Dad had trouble talking due to the Parkinson’s, but that didn't stop him from going to see his good friends that he knew and loved. Our Dad really did live life to its fullest.
Dad no words can describe how much you will be deeply missed by all of your family. May you rest in heavenly peace with Grandma and your siblings. We love you so very much Dad and we all have you close and forever in our hearts.
