Timothy Timke Obituary

Timothy Michael Timke, born July 13th, 1957 in Middletown, NY, passed away peacefully at home July 10th, 2025.

Tim was predeceased by his parents George H. Timke and Janet E. Schmidt Timke, stepfather John (Hap) Schmidt, and his former wife Susan B. Timke.

Tim (Redeye) was a truck driver for 48 years driving for many different companies. Most recently retiring from Wakefern (ShopRite). Tim loved driving. There was nothing better to Tim than being behind the wheel of an eighteen-wheeler. Well, maybe sitting in the seat of his zero-turn making sure the “lines” in his lawn were straight and people noticed. Tim touched the hearts of so many people and could make friends anywhere. He loved his Village of Montgomery and knew everything about it. He loved being an administrator for the Historical Montgomery page on Facebook and displayed wonderful pictures. He was a member of the Montgomery Fire Department and enjoyed listening to his scanner at his house. He also enjoyed his antiques and refurnishing furniture. According to Tim, it is against the law to paint wood. This is what Tim did, he made everyone laugh. He loved his large family so very much, especially his grandchildren as they loved their “Papa” even more. Tim found comfort at his new vacation spot at York Beach, Maine, enjoying sunrises and naps on the beach. Tim was truly an amazing man with a huge heart who would be the first to lend a helping hand. Tim never said “good bye”, it was always “see you later”. So, Tim, we will see you later and will never forget you. We love you.

Tim is survived by his wife Tracy Upchurch Kohler, son Timothy Timke Jr., son James Timke (Nicole), stepson Lars Kohler, stepdaughter Cassandra Garitta (Michael), grandchildren Tiahana, Paizleigh May and James Jr. Timke, Liliana Garitta, Emmett Garitta, Holdyn Kohler, Andrew and Eric Schmeiser; brother Leo Timke (Michelle), George Timke (Trish), Christopher Schmidt (Kerri), sister Jan Timke Vaughan and many nieces and nephews.
