Veronica Utter, a longtime resident of Wallkill, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. She was 81.
Born on December 1, 1943, in the Bronx, NY, Veronica was the daughter of the late Vincent and Christina Robertson. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald Utter.
Veronica dedicated her life to service—both in her work and her faith. She was employed at St. Luke’s Hospital, Stewart Airforce Base, and Stamplate (RMA&P) in Wallkill, where she proudly served as Shop Steward for 37 years. A devoted member of St. Benedict’s Chapel in Wallkill, she gave her time and talent as a volunteer organist for 33 years, bringing comfort and joy through music to generations of parishioners.
She is survived by her son, William Utter and his wife Lori of Hamburg, NY; and her grandson, Thomas. Veronica is also survived by her brothers: Vincent (Angie) Robertson of New Mexico, Alexander Robertson of Pennsylvania, Patrick Robertson (Chris) Garrison of Canajoharie, NY , Terence (Cynthia) Robertson of New Jersey, Michael Robertson of Washington; and her sisters: Mary Ellen (Jeryl) Lilly of New Mexico and Christina Burgess of Missouri.
She was predeceased by her brother Dennis of New Mexico. Veronica also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:15 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Wallkill Funeral Home, 12 Bonaventura Ave., Wallkill, NY. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 at St. Benedict’s Chapel, Wallkill.
