Wilda M. (Depew) Palen

Wilda M. Palen of Modena, NY, passed away Wednesday morning, April 9, 2025, in Montgomery. She was 97. 

The daughter of the late William J Depew and Ethel M. Sutton Depew, she was born January 15, 1928, in New Hurley, NY. 

Before her retirement Wilda worked as a cafeteria aide for the Wallkill Central School District for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband James F Palen. She was also predeceased by sisters Mary, Stella, Shirley and brother William.

Wilda is survived by her daughter Sheila J. Smith (Wayne) of Modena, N.Y., son James R. Palen (Sherry) of Modena, N.Y.; grandchildren Sherie, Wayne, Brian, James, Dustin and Jeffrey; great grandchildren Jeffrey, Megan, Peyton, Cassidy, Kyle, Matthew, Kayleigh, Connor, Charlotte, Chaseton, Taylor, Austin, and Emily; great great granddaughter Ava; sister Viola A. Henry and many nieces and nephews

Services will take place privately at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place in New Hurley Cemetery.
