William F. Conklin of Montgomery, NY,(formerly of Hillburn, NY) passed away Monday, June 28, 2021 in Middletown, NY. He was 75.
Son of Homer Conklin and Ethel Conklin, William was born October 28, 1945, growing up in the Village of Hillburn in Rockland County, NY until later moving to the Village of Maybrook in Orange County with his wife Moureen to raise their two girls circa 1970. Shortly before retiring in the early 2000s, William and Moureen moved to a quiet neighborhood in the Town of Montgomery where he spent his final years.
William worked as a steamfitter for Local 373. He also volunteered his time to firefighting in Rockland County as a young adult and later became a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, celebrating his Irish Catholic heritage. William lived a fulfilling and hardworking life to provide for those whom he loved the most.
William is predeceased by his father Homer Conklin, mother Ethel Conklin, sister Agnes Conklin and brother Jerry Conklin.
Survivors include his wife Moureen of 56 years at home in Montgomery, daughter Valerie Conklin of Montgomery, daughter Nadine Conklin of Maybrook, and granddaughter Katie Nielsen of Maybrook.
He also leaves behind his beloved pet cat, Holly.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 2pm-7pm, Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY.
A mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11am, at Holy Name of Mary Church, 89 Union St., Montgomery, NY.
Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery in Montgomery, NY.
