Bertha J. Lindsay of Newburgh,a life long resident of the area passed away Monday, May 2, 2016, at home. She was 93.

The daughter of the late Andrew C and Marion A Kernochan Lindsay, she was born November 11, 1922 in Montgomery, New York.

Bertha was also predeceased by both of her sisters Doris and Hazel. She retired as Senior Vice President of Key Bank of New York. Bertha was a life long member of Goodwill Church in Montgomery, NY and had been the oldest living member of the church. She was a volunteer to many organizations, including the American Heart Association, of which she had been the local secretary. Bertha rose to Executive Vice President of Columbus Trust Co., and was one of the first female EVP's in New York.

Survivors include her cousins  Ronald B. Smith and his wife Margaret of Warwick, Linda Smith of Farmingdale, NY, Deborah L. Smith of Goshen, Suzanne D. Verrilli and her husband Peter and sons Zachary, Patrick, and Scott.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 10-11am, at Goodwill Presbyterian Church, the old sanctuary, 2135 Rt. 208, Montgomery, NY 12549.

A service will follow immediately after at 11 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery in Montgomery, NY.
