To Sue, justin and Teri
Words are not enough to express our sadness for you and all who loved Jim. Let's plan to keep the memory of all the good about him (as well as the fun and quirky things) that we all have and cherish. We love you all and offer any and all support going forward.
Our offers of sympathy also for his siblings, parents, otters and all that love him.

No words can do justice to the heartbreak we are all feeling - each in our own remembrances of him. All the stories and reminders of how Jim Zgoda affected each of us, are a treasure. The world has lost a wonderful, decent human being who touched so many lives. I hope he knew how special he was to all of us. I will miss him very much.

I was shocked and sorrowed at the news of Dr. Zgoda's passing! I had used his services years ago, with my cat, Shaina. I also knew him through English Rose, where I taught for many years. My condolences to his family! He will always be remembered fondly!

Sue and family, I was so deeply saddened to hear about Jim's passing. He was such an amazing vet and all around person. I appreciated so much how he cared for my dogs and how he had built such a wonderful practice full of compassionate and amazing staff members. Wishing all of you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Dearest Connie, Jim and family - I am in shock, as I'm sure everyone else is. Now looking back, I'm so happy I was able to share two special occasions with your family last year. I could feel the instant warmth, love and compassion when I first met Jim. Also being a lover of animals, I'm sure he is surrounded by the many that he loved and helped. Only God knows the reason that He called Jim at such a young age - he still had so much more work to do here, but the Good Lord needed him up in Heaven for some special reason. My heart aches for you, Jim's wife, his loving children, his siblings and his nieces and nephews. There are simply no words. I send all my love to you all during this most difficult time. I will always be here to offer all the love and support that I have. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Connie - It seems like yesterday I would hear you express your worries about Jim in vet school and Mark driving home in snowstorms from New York State. I have read all the tributes to your son and am not surprised, knowing his parents, that he was a successful and caring veterinarian. I am sure St. Francis was there to welcome him home. I know you and Jim have faith to give you comfort under trying circumstances.

To all members of the Zgoda Family,
Words can't convey the deep sorrow we have for all of you at this most difficult time! The loss of such a precious human being as Jim as evidenced by family, friends and associates, speaks volumes to this fact. In reminiscing we once again are reminded of the fragility of life now. So we are hoping to "reconnect" soon. May "the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort" (2Co1:3) be with each and everyone of you.
Lovingly, The Kandefer Family

Jim was a special member of our veterinary school class. His giving nature came through not just while we were all together for those 4 years, but afterward as he labored to keep us periodically together again. Carol and I extend our condolences to Jim's family and friends.

My heart breaks for you. I knew your husband/father from many years ago at
the Dog Shows we were at. How surprised I was when I walked into your office
and found the letter from the Kennel Club he had donated his time to . This
was the same KC I had shown my dogs at. Such a pleasant surprise to find
my old friend again. He was such a true animal lover and what a great
Doctor. Dr.Z. rip we will miss you so VERY VERY much. You were there to
extend your sympathies and console me every time one of my babies left us.
Now I cry for you and yours. To Sue, Teri and Justin; your husband and father
was such a wonderful human being and he will always hold a special place
in my heart. Thank you for sharing him with us. God Bless you all.

Where do I begin... Jim was a wonderful friend, father, husband, vet and Scout. He always had a smile on his face. His compassion for animals and people was always first and foremost for him. His infectious laugh, love of life, and how proud he was of Justin and Teri, Sue and his Otter family will be remembered. I will remember our game nights and laughs the most. Rest easy, fly high, watch over all of us left here to mourn.. We will in turn watch over your family. Until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

This evening I had a call from my son Mike advising me that Dr. Zgoda had passed away. This was a shock and very sad news to get. Jim was not just our Veterinarian he was a friend and the designer of our Hans total health care. Dr. Z was a fantastic man and he will be missed by many. He was a gifted doctor who brought together our human world and our animal kingdom to share our world and each other. Jim you gave your extended family members fantastic health care and you always had time to talk to us about what options we had when the problems came up with our Berners. We trusted our Berners health care to you and never worried about the care you gave them. From Our first Berner Loki, then to Joy and to Isabella you were the doctor that they loved to se and one who they all trusted and loved. Hans is still with us because of your care giving and we thank you as Hans thank you for that. You made our world , our animal kingdom a better place to co-exist. You gave so much to our children in teaching them about the animal kingdom and how we can all share a life with. I will miss our chats and I know Hans will miss you as we.. my friend. Thank you for what you gave us. Rest now my friend and when you cross over the rainbow bridge know that the Fields of Ambrosia will be filled with all your furry friends and your family and friends who passed before you. Thank you Sir and until we meet again. In closing I want to say how sorry and sad I am for Dr. Z family. I know he was a fine son and brother, a loving husband and dad, and a man who accomplished so much by making our world a better place for man and animal to share! God Bless your soul Jim.
