Elba was quite a woman with a passion for her family and determination, stubbornness and pride in everything she did. She was very proud and thankful for all of her accomplishments in life. Her family came first no matter what with sage advice to her beloved grandchildren.
Elba was also very feisty, ready to put up her dukes if need be! Sometimes this got her in a bit of trouble but she was no one to mess around with.
She loved her lighthouses and her apartment was lit up by many. They were a reminder to her of God's love guiding and directing her through the many trials and joys in life.
Elba often spoke of her birthplace, Puerto Rico and had fond memories of her girl bike pals and delicious fruit picked off the trees.
Quite often as I cared for her she would speak to me in Spanish...don't know much but understood were her tight hugs of thankfulness whenever I did something a little special for her. Rest in Peace Elba, it was a pleasure to get to know you.
