After God made you Eric, he threw away the mold. I’ve never met a kinder, gentler
human being. Everyone thought so highly of you and you were loved by all. You will be missed and your void will never be filled. Rest In Peace and we will meet again.
Weren’t those sunsets over the Shawangunks amazing to watch good buddy...

I served with Eric in the NY Air Guard. Since my first deployment to England to the time we spent in Kuwait. Eric's smiling face lifted everyone's spirit. This proves that the Good do die young...too young.

I just received notice of Eric's passing and my heart broke. I met Eric during my time at Stewart AFB and overseas. He was a great guy and a true wing man. What I remember most is his smile and big heart. He got along with all the guys. He was the kindest, biggest teddy bear I know and I will always remember him with affection. My condolences to Eric's family and friends. What a great loss. May his big heart live always in ours.

With our sincerest condolences to Eric's family, he was truly one of the nicest guys I had the privilege to serve with. Eric always had a smile and a laugh to share with us, even when things weren't going quite right at the time, but his laughter always brought a smile. Eric shall be missed but his good nature and his big heart shall endure in our memory.

R.I.P. Eric. You always had a smile and that sense of humor, no matter what was going on. You were a great Officer in Wallkill, the PD's and a friend who I truly enjoyed working with. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
To the Moore family, my heartfelt condolences during this sorrowful time. No words can ease the pain, only time to lessen it. God be with you.

Eric it is sad to see you go so soon, working with you at the pd was always a pleasure. When I first came on you welcomed me and looked out for me as a bigger brother looks out for his younger brother. I knew that if you were on shift, or even just monitoring the radio and I needed assistance and you heard that call, you were there. I can still hear you saying "and stuff like that" or "oh boy, oh boy" It has been years since I saw you last, but when I did you had not changed a bit, you were your same happy go lucky self.

You were in words a gentle giant, not only in size but your heart. I don't think there is or was one person who ever had a bad word to say about you, and that is a trait that not many can say that they have, you however can stand tall and be proud that you were that type of guy! Rest in peace brother, as you look down upon us from above you will not be forgotten, and may the calling from the higher power from above show you the streets of gold that you deserve!

Eric and I worked together for 20 years. Eric had a disarming smile for everyone that walked through the front door. It's hard to imagine Eric without a smile on his face. In the end he bore his pain with a dignity and grace that belied what he was going through. I feel blessed to have known and called him my friend

Was saddened to hear of Eric's passing. We worked together at Wallkill many years ago and quickly found out that Eric was one of the most professional officers at Wallkill. We worked together many times and also found out that he was a great person in life too. There has definitely been a hole left in this world with the loss of Eric. Thoughts & Prayers go out to all of Eric's family and friends during this difficult time.

We loved Eric! The stories he would tell about his rides to The Rock with Joe. Eric would say they got more deer with the car than most hunters in the woods. He could always lift us up to see the good in all things. He would watch out for our kids on the road when they were teenagers and say he wished he was a Schmidt. Ryan still has the car we bought from Eric, Z28 Camero 1987. We would enjoy when Eric would stop by our house. He had a heart as big as the world. He did so much for so many and did it all with love and his big smile. We are at a loss to know he won't be driving up our driveway any longer. Yet, we know he is in the loving arms of Jesus and with his loved ones and friends that went before him. Let us pass along the gift of friendship that EJ gave to so many. Make each day count, let others know how important they are to you, smile, wave, be kind and be like Eric pass the following that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" John3:16 We love you, Eric! Dear Eric, Our hearts are broken tonight as you are gone too soon. I remember our first meeting when you came to my aide as a Police Officer, making sure I was safe before departing, you were the best man at our wedding ceremony just days before you left with Fred to serve in Kuwait. I will always remember that beautiful night and very special dinner you hosted for us. Then a tragedy struck our family and you were right there to support my children and for that we are eternally grateful and will always remember your kindness. My husband could not have had a more loving, caring best friend these past 33 years, and I am so glad that I can call you my friend as well. Thankfully, we had the pleasure to spend time with you recently at our home in Florida, listening to you and Fred share stories on the lanai made Ashley and I smile and I know it meant the world to Fred. If we only knew, we'd have made time to visit more. Your honor, integrity, humbleness and kindness define the Gentleman you are ! I know you are with your beloved parents and that brings some comfort......With Love, Debi
