John P. Mills of Montgomery, NY, Owner/Operator for John Mills Construction, Montgomery and a lifelong resident of the area died Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at home.  He was 91.


The son of the late Roswell S. and Jennie Millspaugh Mills, he was born August 31, 1924 in Town of Wallkill New York.

He served in the Navy during World War II on the Destroyer USS Robert K. Huntington.
John served as a Village of Montgomery Trustee in the early 70s and the Town of Montgomery Board of Assessment. He also served many years in the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of The American Legion Osborn Fitzsimmons Post 521 Montgomery and the Maybrook VFW post 2064. Former member of the Montgomery Methodist Church

Grandchildren  Daniel P. Knapp; John P. Mills; Leonard B. Mills; and Brad D. Mills
Great-Grandchildren Jessica, Sara, Jay, Brooke, Michael and Vanessa.
Great great grandson Trevor
And several other Nieces, Nephews and Cousins

He was predeceased by his Son William J Mills and sister Edith Ziporkin.

Interment will be at the Brick Church Cemetery in Montgomery, NY.  Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
