Ruth J. O’Reilly devoted wife to Francis J. O’Reilly and beloved mother passed away in Newburgh on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Ruth was the daughter of the late John G. Sutton and Hilda Yeaple Sutton. As a young child, Ruth loved to sing, dance and perform at the Didsbury’s theatre. Ruth was a legal secretary for many years and also worked for IBM. Ruth was an avid reader and talented writer. She completed a novel, and published children’s poems, stories and historical articles. In later years, Ruth enjoyed art and completed many watercolor and acrylic works. Above all, Ruth was a kind and gentle woman. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and especially by her family.  She is survived by her daughter, Anne Hoyt, and husband Mark, her son Stephen O’Reilly and wife Mary, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband, Francis J. O’Reilly son, Paul O’Reilly grandson, Kurt O’Reilly and sister, Shirley Bullis.  
 
Memorial visitation will be 11 am to Noon on Friday February 12, 2016  at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St.Walden, NY.
Funeral services will follow at Noon in the funeral home.
Rev. Howard Dalton will officiate.

Interment will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery.
