Dear Grandpa,
Thank you for teaching me how to whistle just like you.
Thank you for instilling in me your passion for music from the 40s & 50s.
Thank you for sharing your love of sports.
Thank you for teaching me how to swing a golf club.
Thank you for all of the wonderful games of wiffle ball.
Thank you for taking me to play miniature golf 1,000 times and for the ice cream treats directly following.
Thank you for all of the wonderful times we shared together over the last 46 years. Thank you for putting your life on the line when you enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the start of America's involvement in WWII
Thank you for fighting for your country - and for my life to be possible.
For all of these reasons, and many more, you have been, and always shall be, my hero. I will miss you more than I could ever express in words.
I love you, Grandpa.
