Elizabeth "Betty" Locke

Elizabeth Kelley Locke, known to many as Betty or Miss Betty, a lifelong resident of Montgomery, passed away on June 15, 2018 in her home as per her request, at Montgomery Manor. Betty was 92. She was the daughter of the late William and Emma Locke. Betty was predeceased by her sister, Bobbie Ashman. Survivors include: Mary Kovar of South Carolina; Georgia and Vic Voegelin of Wallkill, NY and Kate Howe of Tillson, NY. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Betty worked in the woolen mill on Factory St., Montgomery, and later worked for Valley Central School District. Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 63 years and sang in the choir for most of those 63 years, she also taught Sunday School. 
Betty loved to walk to her favorite cafes in Montgomery, Marlene's Daily Bean and Ed's Deli. She also loved to travel as she had participated in many Senior bus trips. Miss Betty was so blessed to have a group of very dedicated caregivers over the past 3 years. Especially her 2 Earth angels, Tracy Hendrickson and her loving compassionate 10 year old daughter, Kellee Esther. They both made personal sacrifices for the well being of their Miss Betty. 
Many thanks and gratitude to Mike, Mary, and all of Betty's family at Montgomery Manor. Also to Joel Sakolsky at Evercare, Peggy at Dr. Chaudrey's office, and Ann Fitzgibbons at Hospice, your help, patience, caring and knowledge were deeply appreciated as I tried to navigate through our broken Elder Healthcare system. Rest in Peace Miss Betty. 
A service will be at 10 am on Saturday June 23, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, Clinton St., Montgomery with a repast to follow at the Montgomery Manor Community Room at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to an education fund for Kellee Esther Hendrickson C/O Walden Savings Bank, 2 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586, in Miss Betty's Memory.
