A Statement from R. Bryant Hightower Jr., CFSP, President of the National Funeral Directors Association:
“The importance of having a funeral to honor the deceased and giving loved ones an opportunity to celebrate that life and begin to grieve is unquestioned. While the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) is deeply committed to promoting the value of a funeral, the unprecedented novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic requires the funeral profession to balance its long-held values with the need to: flatten the curve of the pandemic; protect the health of attendees, funeral home staff and clergy/celebrant; and reduce the potential for community spread and mass-fatalities.”
“NFDA recognizes this limit will be very difficult for families who are grieving the death of a loved one, but asks for their understanding during this challenging time.”
As of January 1, 2021, we are allowed up to 33% occupancy for a visitation/service. We will also offer live streaming at the request of the family, if needed.
Your safety and well being is of utmost importance to us. At this time, as we continue to navigate through these uncertain times, we are requiring that everyone please wear a mask or facial covering. Visitors are requested to refrain from physical contact including hugging, handshaking or contact with the face. We thank you for your understanding.
Church and graveside services will be allowed in accordance with the church's and/or cemetery’s COVID-19 policy. If desired by the family, we will provide video recording of services for those not able to attend.
The NYS Funeral Directors Association has been working with the Governor’s office to allow funeral homes to use technology in lieu of an in-person conference for both at-need and pre-need arrangements.
We still remain available 24/7 to serve and/or answer any questions you may have. We continue to monitor the situation closely and we hope to return to our normal operations in the very near future.
