Jane H. (Howe) DePew

Jane H. DePew of Montgomery, NY, and a lifelong resident of the area died Saturday, April 14, 2018, at home. She was 77.
The daughter of the late Alton and Eleanor Howe, she was born May 20, 1940 in Newburgh.

She was a teacher and administrator for the Valley Central School District for 30 years. She participated in many outside activities including the Alpha Zeta Sorority, Walden Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, United Methodist Women, the Sunshine Society of Walden, The Walden Historical Society, and did mission work locally, nationally, and international. She travelled extensively.

She was the widow of Thomas DePew. Her survivors include her sister Joan Bedell and her husband Thomas Bedell, son Thomas Alton DePew and his wife Lisa Bryant DePew of Fredericksburg, VA, daughter Sandra Taylor of Port Byron, NY, daughter Becky Collins of Newburgh, NY. She was grandmother to Ian Taylor, Brendan Gibbons, Taylor DePew, Colton DePew, Madison Collins, Caleb Collins and great-grandmother to Lee Taylor.

Memorial visitation will be Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 1-3pm. at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St. Walden, NY. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the visitation at 3:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Pastor Matthew Querns will officiate.
