Marcia L. White

Marcia L. White of Wallkill, NY, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018, she was 73.

The daughter of the late Harry and Freda Foos Vogt, she was born March 22, 1945 in Queens, NY.

Marcia grew up in Valley Stream, NY and then moved to Wallkill in 1957.  She graduated from Wallkill High School in 1962.  She quickly married Alan White, and with hard work and persistence, they began to raise a family in Wallkill. Times were tough for the young couple, and Marcia did her share to help out financially.  She was a licensed hairdresser with a home-based studio. Her sense of style, and attention to detail, made for many happy returning customers.  She herself, never left the house until she was 100% presentable.  Marcia lived a passionate life full of home tradition and family love.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren; supporting them through their many adventures.  Marcia loved arts & crafts and had a passion for home decorating. In 1979 the family moved into a large farm-style home in need of major TLC.  Years of fearless “Do It Yourself” renovations, and stylish decorating, created the beautiful homestead where she spent her later years. Her passion for interior and exterior decoration would overflow during the holidays.  She had the ability to create holiday magic that will be remembered for years to come.  Full of pride and love, the house is still called home to family and many friends.

Survivors include her loving husband, Alan C. White of Wallkill, NY. Son, Scott White of Wallkill, NY. Daughter, Meta White Champion & her husband Ronald of Voorheesville, NY. 3 Sisters: Dawn Peterson & her husband Nicholas of Ridgefield CT. Marilyn Driscoll & husband James of Mount Pleasant, SC. JoAnne Supple & husband Gerard of Ashland, MA. 5 Grandchildren: Rachael, Travis, Jordan, Bailey and Rori along with multiple nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, November 26, 2018 from 6-8pm at Wallkill Funeral Home, 12 Bonaventura Ave., Wallkill, NY 12589.

A funeral service will be held at 10am Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Wallkill Funeral Home, 12 Bonaventura Ave., Wallkill, NY 12589.
