Robert Albert Knapp born August 28, 1995 passed away on June 25, 2018. He attended Wallkill Senior High School and was the independent owner of his own mobile auto & truck repair business. He loved offroading his jeep, playing airsoft, riding ATVs, fishing (especially with his grandfather off the pier in Florida). He was never happier than when he could help friends and family with car repairs or working with them on different projects no matter how easy or difficult. He is survived by his father Richard Knapp, step-mother Angelina Collins, and brother Michael Knapp as well as his grandparents Albert and Florence Valk, Terry Thom, and Richard and Judith Knapp. He is loved and missed also by many Aunts,Uncles, Cousins and friends who will miss his big smile and gentle giant demeanor. He also will be missed by his cat Smokey aka Fathead whom he brought home sick and cold and starving because it broke his heart to see her so thin and to hear her crying every day on his way to school. Rob, Bob to all his close family, was an intelligent, fun, happy hard working young man who was quick to make friends and always willing to help anyone out at any time of day or night. However he suffered a two year addiction to pain medication which then transitioned to heroin use which left him in a place from which he could not see a way to escape.. He had been in and out of treatment for the last year and struggled to remain clean though ultimately he succumbed to the inability to regain control of his life and escaped in the only way he felt was left to him.
