Walter T. Olsen

Walter Thomas Olsen of Coldenham, NY, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, in Valhalla.  He was 75.

The son of Thomas Francis Olsen Sr. and Carole Shuart Olsen, he was born July 26, 1947 in Newburgh, NY.

Walter served in the United States Army having attained the rank of E4. He retired as a carpenter for the NYS Thruway Authority, Newburgh, NY.

Walt was a member of the Quassaick Engine Company, Past President of the Coldenham Fire Company, Past Commander American Legion Post 1308, Past Scoutmaster Troop 125, Past President of Apple Valley Good Sam. Walt enjoyed restoring his 1965 Mercury Comet and his 1966 Ford truck. He also enjoyed NASCAR, traveling across the United States, and peanut butter.

Survivors include his wife Alicia, son Daniel Olsen (wife Angela Helt-Olsen and son C.J.), brothers Timothy and Thomas Olsen, sister Kathleen Olsen Calabrese (Michael) and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 14, 2022, 5-8pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586. Firematic services will begin at 7:30pm.

A funeral service will take place Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 10am at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden, NY.
