Kenneth "Coach" I. Gill of Salisbury Mills, NY, Passed away surrounded by his family on  Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at home.  He was 86.

He was born on November 9, 1930, to Walter and Grace Quinlan Gill, in Elmhurst, Queens, NY.

He graduated from the New York School of Art and Design in 1948, and briefly went on to be an apprentice sculptor prior to enlisting in the USAF.

Following 4-years active duty during the Korean Conflict, he relocated to the Hudson Valley, where he met his wife of 50 years, Lorraine "Sweetie" Gill (nee Knights), who survives him.

He is also survived by their three children, daughter Patricia Mynio (nee Gill) and her husband Lee, of Salisbury Mills, NY, two sons, Kenneth Gill, of Miami, FL, and Christopher Gill and his wife Karen, of Saratoga Springs, NY.

Six Grandchildren Christopher, Danielle, Kerry, and Ryan Gill; Samantha and James Mynio.

Twelve Nieces and nephews, along with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother Walter Gill, and sisters Mabel(Gill) DiZinno and Grace(Gill) Mitchell, and daughter, Pamela.

Ken worked as an architect for TAAG Engineering and a Project Design Engineer for Warner Lambert. Ken also spent over 35 years as the man behind "Coach Designs", designing houses and residential additions for hundreds of residents in the area. While humble about the contribution this work made to people's lives, it was a great source of pride. It will serve as a lasting legacy of his life.

He was an active athlete and outdoorsman. His love of sport included trail running and skydiving, having picked up the latter at the age of 70.

An active member of the community, he taught drafting and architecture to the Boy Scouts, served as Past President of the Washingtonville Lion's Club, and was a Life Member of the Salisbury Mills Fire Company.

A memorial mass will take place Monday, November 28, 2016, at 10  a.m., at St. Mary's Church, 42 Goshen Ave., Washingtonville, NY 10992

Burial will follow in the Orange County Veteran's Cemetery in Goshen, NY.
